Game 8 99ers vs Brantford Saints
What a big win this game was for our boys in the middle of a very busy hockey weekend. Although the travel was only across town to the Lions Park rink, we can in as the visitors but made ourselves right at home.
Within the first two minutes we were on the score board with a goal by Nathan M with the assist going to Marcus S. Within minutes a second goal for the good guys thanks to Matthew M and William R. First period ended with a score of 99ers three and Saints nothing, with third goal going to Ashton W and assisted by Riley D.
Second period just meant more non stop action including big saves by Sebastian, great defensive coverage to help keep the puck away from the net and of course more goals. The first goal of the second period was thanks to a great team effort. Ashton was waiting out in front of the net and put the puck deep after a perfect pass from Owen T. Next goal goes unassisted to Nathan B who showed some incredible talent moving the puck around several players only to finish with a beauty of a shot. Saints were able to sneak one in early in the second period but I am happy to report that was the only one that managed to make the score board.
Our boys stayed focus in their determination, played well together moving the puck around and based on the smiles on the bench, everyone was having a GREAT DAY at the rink. Goals in the third period go to Will R, Marcus S, Nathan M, Matthew M and Ashton W. Assist to Ethan H, Ashton W, Didier L. William R, Nathan M and a second assist to Peter D.
The hard hat award goes to Ashton W for the great job putting the puck in the net (more than once) setting up goals, playing hard and being a great team player!
