Game 11 Brantford 99ers at Kiwanis Stars
Well I missed this game but heard how well the boys played. There were some great moments that highlighted the improved skills of some and the continued team building of a great group of boys learning about hockey and making some long time friends.
We were on the score board first with a goal scored unassisted by Nathan B. They boys continued to work hard and move the puck around and put the pressure on which lead to a 2 nothing lead after a second goal unassisted by Marcas S early in the second period. Kiwanis came back with a goal and then came back with another goal within seconds to tie the score at two goals each.
But our boys were going to just stand around, we came to show them what we are made of and our boys mean business. A minute after Kiwanis's second goal we took the lead again with a goal by Willliam R and assisted by Matthew M. The last five minutes of the second period went by with lots of great passes, positional play, digging in the corners and some big saves by the goalies leaving us in the lead with only one goal to end the second period.
Third period meant more great plays and most importantly more goals for the good guys. Matthew M was on fire during the third and we gotta thank him for the two goals he managed to put deep in the net. Assist going to ETHAN H (not Owen, my mistake and so very sorry) for the first goal scored and assist for the second goal going to William R. A little later in the third Marcus S assisted by Ashton W put one more on the board bring our lead to four goals. Kiwanis managed to sneak one more in with a minute left to play.
