Streak Extended to 8
Submitted By Dan Culbert on Wednesday, February 4, 2015
It was home sweet home once again for the Mortgage Financial 99ers as they extended their home undefeated streak to 8 games with a 3-2 win over the London Mustang Purple team.

Minor Midget call-up Liam Boeyenga lead the charge with 2 goals as the 99ers played a solid game in controlling the play throughout the night.  After falling behind 1-0 in the Andrew Kitchen scored on a 5 on 3  PP with just over 3 mins to play in the first, with the assists going to Nathan Foster and Jonah Ferreira.  Then several more good scoring chances, the period ended tied at 1.  The AP call-up Boeyenga then went to work leading the home team in building a 3-1 lead after 2. His first goal 4 minutes into the second came 5 on 5 as he took a pass from Zak Culbert and scored from in close at the right side of the net as Kyle Jackman picked up the second assist after using his speed to make a strong play along boards in the offensive zone.  Then with less than a minute to go and the 99ers on the PP, Boeyenga picked up a pass in the neutral zone then split the London D walking in alone to score to increase the lead to 3-1 with Connor Vorwald and Culbert picking up the helpers.  A strong 3rd period provided no chance for the visitors to mount a comeback as they could only get one past Kevin Dawdy in the 99ers net and even this one didn't happen until a 6 on 5 goalie out situation and bad bounce found the net with only 3.5 seconds to go in the game.
