Champions in Barrie!
Congratulation Brantford 99'ers Minor Atom A on beating the Stratford Warrions AA team in the final game of the Barrie Canadian Tire Classic Tournament and becoming Champions.
It was a very hard fought tournament, going 5 and 1 against tough competition including the Burlington Eagles, Sudbury Wolves and North Durham Warriors. In the Championship game against the AA Stratford Warriors the 99'ers stuck to coach Monty's game plan and came out guns a blaz'n, scoring the opening goal just 14 seconds into the 1st period. They kept up the forecheck pressure and continued to shoot the puck often to help take a 3 -0 lead going into the 3rd period. Stratford came on hard in the 3rd period scoring 3 quick unanswered goals but the 99'ers didn't give up, dug deep and showed they wanted it more! With 2:30 left in the 3rd period scored the winning goal followed by the put away empty netter in the last minute.
Congrats 99'ers on a great Victory!
