The Excitement Continues!
After winning the Lefroy Lucky Puck Tournament, the U9 Select 99ers were back at it this week with 2 away games.
After an incredible weekend of hockey in Barrie, the U9 Select 99ers had to make a quick turnaround Monday Night to travel to Hamilton to play the Chedoke Express.
The team came out flying on all cylinders, just like over the weekend, and didn't stop putting the pressure on until the final whistle. The team won their 6th full ice game 13-1 playing extremely well.
A special shoutout to our standout players: Hunter Hockin and Hensley Hill, who were both on the A game. Hunter made some incredible plays passing and shooting the puck while Hensley scored a pair himself and played very good positional hockey. Congratulations and well-earned to our "Hardest Workers" of the game!
After having some time off throughout the week, the U9 Select 99ers travelled across town to face the Brantford Saints Friday Night. The 99ers had to dig deep as the score was close all game. Working hard and never giving up, the 99ers were able to secure a 5-3 win to put them 7-0 on the season.
Huge congrats to our "Hardest Workers" award winner for this game: Grayson Foreman and Isaiah Zylstra. Grayson came up with some timely saves, including stopping a 2-0 late in the game that could have tied it up. Isaiah made some great defensive plays and moved the puck well. Way to go boys!
Our journey continues next week where we are back at the Wayne Gretzky Centre for 2 home games playing the Dofasco Steelhawks on Friday January 31st @6:30 and the Rosedale Devils on Saturday February 1st @4:30.
