This years group of 99er Midget aged players are playing beyond most observers expectations. The team just recently fell under .500 but continue to compete and put out forth good efforts. Tournament play has really been our strong point so far, it's the league play where we need to clean up our game. This season there is so much parody where anyone can win on any given night. No one seems to be running away with it.
The league standings show us positioned down near the bottom but that doesn't reflect our play through those games. Ideally we would of liked to have the points but we've ran into dynamite goalies, bad bounces and / or no breaks for us etc...
We are always " IN" the game either taking the lead or clawing back to make it close. The compete level is there, it's just like all teams, not consistent for 3 full periods.
A continued work in progress but we are enjoying the progress of the team, the discipline shown so far and the respect given towards us, the opposition and officials. Most of all the guys are having fun and enjoy coming to the rink.
We set small goals,
Win the shift, Win the period, Win the battles throughout and the Win at the end will come.
Keep working, keep hustling and giving it all you have to offer.
