Toronto Maple Leafs First Shift Returns to Brantford Minor Hockey - Registration is FULL
Brantford Minor Hockey is very pleased to
offer the Toronto Maple Leafs First Shift program for a fifth consecutive
season. Registration is now FULL. To be added to our wait list, please visit
www.firstshift.ca.
First Shift is open to boys and girls ages
6-10*, who have not previously registered for hockey. (*To be eligible to
participate, children must be born between January 1, 2012 and May 1st, 2017.)
First Shift is designed to ensure a positive experience for new-to-hockey families. We want to take away any intimidation as it relates to equipment requirements, and/or rules of the game, remove potential safety concerns, and most importantly, provide an experience that is memorable and fun. Players are divided into small groups and rotate to various skills stations, ensuring varying skill development with a positive ratio of instructors to skaters.
Participant registration fee is $229 and includes:
-
Bauer equipment (head-to-toe) that is yours to keep
-
Welcome event with expert fit session and equipment distribution
-
6 on-ice sessions (1 hour on a consistent day and time)
-
Focus on fun and learn to play
BMHA has been awarded one group of 45 skaters for the Winter program. This has been a very popular initiative and spots will go quickly. Register early to avoid disappointment.
The Welcome Event / Equipment Fitting is scheduled to take place on Friday, January 20, 2023. On-ice sessions should begin by Saturday, February 4, 2023, but this is not yet confirmed. On-ice sessions are typically held on Saturday’s, early to late-afternoon at Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
