Welcome
Mini-Mac Parents & Skaters
October 2012
Brantford Minor Hockey is again pleased to offer our Mini Mac Program for beginner skaters ages 3 – 6 years of age.
McDonalds restaurant here in Brantford are the sponsors of our program, hence the name “Mini Macs” We have enjoyed a long and enjoyable relationship with McDonalds and look forward to seeing it continue.
Our first and most important goal of this program is to familiarize our young skaters with the on ice arena environment. This can be a whole new and challenging place for many of them. Some adapt quickly, for others it simply takes time.
Remember, “Rome wasn’t built in a day”!
We are always in desperate need of volunteers to help with our program. Parent volunteers are most welcome. If you would like to come on the ice you are most welcome. You will need a helmet and skates to participate. Those not wearing a helmet and skates will be asked to leave the ice surface.
Our Mini Mac program is designed to be a group learning experience as opposed to a one on one learning situation. Each skater is required to wear full equipment that includes a helmet and mask, neck guard, mouth guard, shoulder pads, jock, shin guards, elbow pads, hockey gloves, hockey pants, and a hockey stick. Even though the hockey sticks may not be used much in the early stages of the program, they could be later on and should always be available.
Bob Coyne, Terry McCready, Brandon McCready, Ryan Bell and Gary Crawford are the program instructors. Please feel free to communicate with any of us regarding your child’s participation in our program.
Have a great Hockey Season everyone!
