The Ontario Hockey Federation (OHF) is pleased to announce that as of Wednesday, March 4, 2026, the 2026 OHF Scholarship Program is officially accepting applications. The application window will remain open until Friday, May 8, 2026.
About the OHF Scholarship Program
Introduced in 1997, the OHF Scholarship Program was established to recognize and reward dedication to both education and hockey. The program provides financial assistance to registered OHF participants to help offset the cost of post-secondary education. Since its inception, the OHF has distributed more than $485,000 to over 430 post-secondary students across the province. Scholarships are awarded to outstanding young individuals who demonstrate commitment and excellence at the arena, in the classroom, and in their community.
Recipients are selected based on:
• Academic achievement
• Hockey involvement
• Community engagement
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must:
• Be registered within the OHF (OMHA, GTHL, ALLIANCE, NOHA, OWHA, OHL) during the 2025–2026 season
• Have been registered for at least three (3) of the last four (4) years with the OHF as a player, trainer, coach, or official
• Be in good standing with the OHF
• Be attending a Canadian post-secondary institution
Application Requirements
Applicants are required to submit:
- Personal Essay (maximum 500 words)
- Topic is open-ended (e.g., hockey experience, overcoming adversity, how hockey has shaped personal development, etc.)
- One Academic Reference Letter (on academic letterhead)
- One Hockey-Related Reference Letter (on hockey organization letterhead)
- Most Recent School Transcript
All participants (players, coaches, trainers, and officials) within each of the OHF Members (ALLIANCE, GTHL, NOHA, OHA, OHL, OMHA, OWHA) are eligible to apply.
