Coach Jay Shawana from our 99ers family needs our help. Jay is fighting stage 4 liver cancer and is in desperate need of a living liver donor.
Jay is a father of 4 children (3 daughters and 1 son) and is husband to his wife Theresa. He is a familiar face around area rinks, with his youngest two playing hockey, his daughter in House League and son in BB.
The story of Jay’s journey is available,
along with frequent updates, on his Facebook page - Winner Winner Jason's Liver - https://facebook.com/winnerwinnerjasonsliver
If you take time to do anything
this week, please set aside a few minutes to read his post from July 6, titled,
“My Journey”. This explains the challenges that he and his family have
encountered during the last 2+ years and his biggest challenge yet, the search
for a living liver donor.
Jay is a strong and respected community
leader, a dedicated volunteer, a great man, a fighter, and is looking for more
time with his kids, family, and community. If you are interested in helping Jay and
his family, there are resources on his Facebook page and we can continue to
share them here on our website and our social media posts as well. Please share
on your social networks, with family, friends, and co-workers. Let’s get the
word out and get people talking.
