BMHA Seeking Applicants for New Parental Involvement Coordinator Role

Brantford Minor Hockey is welcoming applicants for a Parental Involvement Coordinator position - a new paid part-time role within the association. Purpose of the role is to address questions, complaints and issues of BMHA members in an appropriate manner, escalating where required but always striving to optimize the potential of the participants in our programs.

Interested candidates are encouraged to apply via email (see details in rest of this article) by Friday, July 20.


- Provide a single point of contact for families, members and other stakeholders of the Association to help provide answers and address issues as they arise

- Administer and oversee the parental complaint process escalating to the Director, Parental Involvement as required:

  • Input and log complaints from the website and other media as required.
  • Follow up on logged complaints to ensure that the process is followed as designed.

  • Interject and assist with the execution of the process where required. This may include following up on communications, collecting information and validating statements and events.

  • Assist in moving the process forward.  This could include conducting meeting with affected parties, authoring issue summaries for participants and mediating disputes where practical

  • Escalate the situation where required. This starts with the Director of Parental Involvement and escalates to the Executive Committee and the Disciplinary Committee as required.Assist the Board in making final recommendations as to the action to be taken on each item and the resolution.

- Prepare a monthly report for the Board of Directors detailing the nature and quantity of issues addressed as well as the resolution. There will two versions: one with full details that will be shared only with the Exec Committee and one that will redact personal details and will be tabled at Board meetings and included in the public minutes.  



- Strong predilection toward working with youth athletes and supporting their enjoyment of the game of hockey

- Strong customer service mentality to help members get resolution to their issues

- Ability to manage and excel with a busy portfolio comprising multiple activities simultaneously

- Confident and objective personality to serve as front-line for parental and coach complaints while prioritizing and addressing those complaints appropriately

- Comfortable working knowledge of IT programs and systems used for collecting data and presenting for Management review and performance improvement
