The key to the success of our teams is coaching. We look for experienced coaches that are capable of managing all facets of a busy hockey team. The commitment is extensive. Over the course of a 7-month season, teams will commonly have well over 100 ice times plus dryland and numerous other off-ice events. Head coaches will receive a modest coaching honorarium based on their training and experience.

Coach Selection Process:

A committee will make the decisions regarding the coaching positions. The committee will employ a consensus-building mentality throughout the selection process.  Voting takes place only as necessary. Committee members are declared to be in conflict of interest where family members or close associates are involved at a certain level, and as such, will have no input to the decision for that team.

Applicants are asked to complete the online form available at this link. Additional emails to committee members are strongly discouraged.

The application has several detailed questions and you are encouraged to thoughtfully answer each item. Each question has character limits so please be brief and succinct in your responses.

Based on time constraints and number of applicants, it is not feasible to interview all applicants. Furthermore, if the committee believes that there is a strong applicant for a given team, then that individual may be appointed without further interviews.

Note: All members of a coaching staff (head coach, assistant, trainer, and manager) must ultimately be approved by the BMHA executive. All coaches and team staff, without exception, will require their Respect-In-Sport, Gender Identity as well as a current Police Check.

Coaching applicants must be submitted no later than 11pm on Sunday, May 27th, 2018.

Interviews will take place in early June.  BMHA typically receives a large number of applicants so only those chosen for an interview will be contacted. Processing and interview setup will be electronic via email.  If you do not have reliable access to email please indicate that clearly in your application. Please be sure to list a phone number in your personal information where you can be reached.

Final notifications and announcements will take place after Board approval is received
