99er Powerplay Extends Streak to 6
The Mortgage Financial 99ers had 3rd period powerplay goals from Andrew Kitchen and AP player Liam Boeyenga en-route to a 3-2 win over the visiting Hamilton Huskies as they extended their home unbeaten streak to 6.

Nothing seems to faze the local boys when they are skating on the warm confines of the Gretzky Centre, as once again the team rallied from being down 2-0 after a period to come roaring back with two on the PP and three overall in 6:10 in the middle of the third giving them a 3-2 win and extending their unbeaten string to 6 games (4-0-2). Undisciplined play was the killer for Hamilton in the third as Kitchen got things going at 11:28 of the third picking up the rebound on a Nathan Foster blast, and cutting the lead to one as Hamilton was serving the second half of a 4 min double minor head contact penalty.  Just 65 seconds later, Hamilton was again short this time for a 5 min major for head contact and Minor Midget call-up Liam Boeyenga made them pay picking up the puck and cutting across the crease before slipping past a sprawling Huskies goaltender for an unassisted goal.  That was all the damage the home team could do on the PP, but the momentum carried over and 5 seconds after the penalty expired, the 99ers took the lead when Dustin Moore converted from Max Klunder and Kitchen.
Jake Gooder was solid down the stretch to close out the victory.
