99ER Drop Decision To Bandits
Icing a full roster in the rematch with the London squad the Contractors Rental Supply Midgets played a much improved game from the 5-0 loss in London despite dropping a 3-1 decision this time at the Gretzky Centre.

Insert Smolarz

The two teams played a fairly even game, exchanging scoring chances through the first period with the only goal going to the Bandits as a centering pass from behind the net hit the Brantford goalie and found it's way into the net.  The period ended 1-0 but the home team was given a PP when a Bandit player was called for slashing with only 9 seconds to go in the period.  The 99ers started the period on the carry-over penalty and after two shifts of sustained pressure they tied the game just before the PP ended as Larry Hill tucked the rebound of a Brent Smolarz point shot past the bandit's goalie.  Dakota Culbert drew the other assist on the play.  Again a well played period ended with the two teams tied 1-1, despite several good chances from the Jamie kelly, Brayden Hill, Andrew Lombardi line.

The start of the third was the same clean fast hockey as the 99ers pressed early only to have a bad angle goal squeek in from the right side beating the Brantford goalie low to the far post just as the lines finished their first change.  The score remained at this 2-1 count for the majority of the period with both teams having a PP opportunity to take charge of the game.  Then with just over 2 minutes to go in the game, the 99ers lost position in the London zone which created a 2 on 1 rush and a high shot to the blocker side found the twine and basically put the game out of reach for the 99ers.  The home team pulled the goalie with just over a minute to play and executed a great minute of goalie out play doing everything but score but learning from the experience for the future.

Next up is a road game in London against the Oakridge Aeros.
