Tryout 3
Welcome to the third tryout for the U15 MD team. Today as head coach i will be joining the players on the ice for the first time. Now that we have had a couple of workouts, I will be looking to see the kids up their compete level in this third practice. Our tryouts have been longer than previous tryouts and practices that these players may have been used to but during the year it wont be uncommon for us to have longer practices and ice times.
There is a smaller group at registrations this year so i am asking all parents to please have a conversation wth their players and make sure if they are going to miss any team event (practice or game) that they communicate this to the coaching staff beforehand. It can make a significant difference in our pratice plans or player rosters for the games.
I know that tryouts can be stressful for the players as well as the parents, i am a parent as well. But with the limited number of registrants for this team i am planning to get everyone into one of the two exhibition games on Wednesday and Thursday before making any decisions on player selections. Players need to bring their best efforts at the remaining tryouts and exhibition games
One last note, Brantford minor did not collect the phone numbers for the families registered. After the tryouts today i would like to ask if each player can visit the coach change room with one parent (if they are at practice) so we can get the phone number and have a quick introduction.
