Welcome to the U13 MD Team page.
Players and Parents, welcome to the U13 MD team site.

The minor development program was created to develop our children’s hockey and personal skills while having fun.  The coaching staff’s role is to develop our hockey players in a positive environment to compete for future spots on higher level teams.  By taking this approach we not only ensure the development of our players meets the standards required of those teams, but we also strengthen and increase the depth within Brantford Minor Hockey as a whole.

These tryouts are going to be very competitive.  From discussions with both the AAA and AA/A coaches, they had a very hard time in selecting their respective teams because of the talent of this age group.

MAX effort, a TEAM PLAYER, and a willingness to LEARN are three key factors for a player on my team.  Talent alone, will not lock a position with the team, if the coaching staff feel you don’t have those three key factors.

If your child secures a spot on the MD team the dates below are the tournaments that MD team have enrolled in:

Oct 15-17      Cambridge Early Bird MD Tournament – Cambridge, ON
Nov 19-21     Bradford Blue & Gold Tournament – Bradford, ON
Dec 27-31      Wayne Gretzky International Hockey Tournament – Brantford, ON
Jan 21-23      Dan Bell Memorial Tournament – Muskoka/ Bracebridge, ON

Please pay attention to all the news articles that have been published by BMHA regarding arena protocols, tryout registration, etc.  Those articles will have all the current information you will need.

COVID19 requirements for Tryout #1:
1. All Players MUST check in at the registration table (preferably ½ hour before ice time) that will be located at the west Entrance of the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre.
2. Players and parents should check in for contact tracing reasons and as of September 22 all spectators of any Alliance Hockey sanctioned activities should be prepared to provide proof of vaccination.  More information can be found on the BMHA website.
3. Players will be assigned a Tryout Jersey at the registration table and be COVID Screened.
4. BMHA is asking that only 1 parent enter the arena with their player to keep the number manageable.
5. Players are encouraged to come partly dressed to play as we can only get into the 15 minutes prior to your ice time.
6. Dressing rooms are limited and the number of people in a room are limited so not all players may be able to use a dressing room and chairs around the rink will be available.
7. Players must always wear a face covering until they have their helmet on and done up and ready to go on the ice.
8. Parents must always wear a face covering while in the Gretzky Centre.
9. Please exit the arena asap after your ice time is done.

Thank you for your time and we'll see you on Friday.

Coach Justin.
