Tryout Update #7
A lot of positives to take away from the game this afternoon in a tough 3-2 loss to Hamilton. As was the case Friday, playing a team who have been together for months and keeping it very close, winning 2 periods with a group of players fighting hard for a spot on the team is a good sign!
Our last tryout will be held Sunday from 2-3:30 pm at The Gretzky Centre. We will be making our selections after this tryout and the final team picks will be made. Again, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the players for coming out and giving it their all! This decision is never easy and as I have mentioned on a few occasions, this group of players are working hard to make decisions very tough and I applaud them for that. As I have mentioned to the players the last few days, hockey does not stop here for the ones who have not made the team and they should be very proud of themselves for battling hard to try and make the team. The final selections will be made on the website under the tryout player list. Under the status column, it will either say Selected for the players who have made the team or Released for the players who did not make the team but we encourage those players to tryout for the Select Team this coming season. The idea to present the information this way is to prevent some players from dealing with the potential disappointment while at the same time others may be experiencing the excitement of being selected to the team for the upcoming season.
