Garden City Early Bird AA
Submitted By Paul Boissonneault on Wednesday, September 14, 2016
Congratulations to the team on a very successful 1st tournament early this season.  Though we were initially not pleased to lose in the semi finals, our team showed extremely well.  We had decisive wins in round robin over the Ottawa based Cumberland Jr Grads AA, a strong club from Rochester area in the Monroe County Eagles 02 AA and the Clarington Toros AA.

We lost in the semi-finals against a strong host Garden City Falcons AA 4-1 after giving up an early marker and 2 quick power play goals to go down 3-0.  We had our chances and simply couldn't get the right bounces.  The host went on to win in the final 7-1 to win the tournament, so our club was certainly in the mix.  Goaltending and defense had a great first weekend and our forwards really started to mesh after line changes after game one.  Great effort!  I believe that the best is yet to come.  Believe in each other and that Together Everyone Achieves More (TEAM).
