Offensive Outburst Heading Into Tourney
The good news was that the Mortgage Financial 99ers exploded for 6 goals at home as they extended their home unbeaten streak to seven games... bad news is that they couldn't hold a 2 goal lead three times and had to hang on for a 6-5 win over the visiting London Purple Mustangs.

Having leads of 2-0, 4-2, and 6-4 was a real positive, while seeing them turn into 2-2, 4-4 and 6-5 scores means there is still some work to do before heading to Pickering for the Midget Madness Tournament on the weekend.

Four players, Max Klunder, Dustin Moore, Andrew Brown and Zak Culbert all had multiple point games as the team lit the light half a dozen times as the 99ers made sure they were not going to be shut-out by the Mustangs again.  Andrew Kitchen got it started on the PP with assists going to Justin Malcolm, and Klunder in the first, before extending the lead when AP Taylor Kellam made it 2-0 two mins into the second with Jonah Ferreira and Dustin Moore drawing assists. Despite good territorial control, the Mustangs evened the score before the period ended.  The six 3rd period goals in Woodstock were surpassed in this one as the two teams combined for 7 on this night, when Matt Adkins got things started a minute into the frame, and Nathan Foster from a tight angle from the right circle 2 minutes later made it 4-2 as Brown, Culbert and Klunder drew assists. However, the lead was short lived as London scored 23 seconds later, and tied it at 4 at 13:11.  Once again, it was time for the home team to light it up and Moore restored the lead with an unassisted PP goal at 10:48 and Culbert scored from Brown what was thought to be an insurance marker, but after a bad penalty and a London PP goal it turned out to be the Game winner. Kevin Dawdy kept it there and the streak was seven.
