99ers Win Essex Early Bird Tournament!!!
What a weekend!!The Minor Bantam A Brantford 99ers started their season off right with a convincing victory in the 37th Annual Essex AA/A Early Bird tournament.
The 99ers had a convincing win against Amhertsburg to open but then were upended on Saturday morning coming out on the wrong end of a 2-0 score to Kitchener. Needing victory to move on, Brantford beat a plucky St Thomas squad and squeaked into the semi-finals. Once there they came up against first place Kitchener but were able to turn the tables on the Rangers and were full marks for a 4-1 victory. In the finals, the 99ers once again met a resurgent Amherstburg team fresh off their semi-final win, but Brantford put together a solid team victory and emerged from the weekend as champions.Thanks to all the parents and thanks to everyone that helped with our team picnic on Saturday. It was a great weekend and a fantastic start to what is destined to be a terrific season.
