Brantford Minor Hockey Association is very pleased to offer Monday Night Player Development Clinics to our 99ers players from Tyke to Peewee. The following clinics will be delivered by Nick Rotondi and his team.

All sessions below will begin with stride and edging as they are the root to all individual tactics and skills.  We will start with a strong focus on balance and weight transfer as these will be demonstrated and exercised in the line skate fashion.  With this we will also introduce basic stick-handling and weight transfer to start to develop a rhythm with the puck while keeping balanced, low hips, head up and eyes down. Nicholas has been teaching hockey players of all ages around Southern Ontario for over twelve years, from House League level to Elite AAA, OHL & NHL.  His coaching experience with several teams and organizations across Ontario makes him a well-rounded instructor with vast knowledge and expertise, and as such he continues to provide a highly sought-after, unique approach to hockey development theories.  Nick currently coaches Blyth Academy U18 Prep, as well as the Men’s Hockey program at Redeemer College.

Spencer’s ability to connect with minor hockey players is what separates him and other coaches. His energy is contagious and his stick handling and shooting techniques are very effective, efficient and translate well into game play.  Spencer has been a Skills coach for N’Ice Stix Hockey for the past 2 years, and is also the skills coach for Blyth Academy U18 Prep School.  Spencer has 2 World Championships with U19 TEAM CANADA (teammates with world famous Instagram Stick handling Guru, Pavel Barber).  Spencer has also worked 2 years directly under NHL shooting Coach Tim Turk at Coast to Coast hockey academy.

Coach Ryan has been involved with coaching the game of hockey on and off the ice for over 10 years.

His experience with developing the “Ultimate Hockey Conditioning” training manual  (used by OHL Erie Otters/Barrie Colts) as well as coaching Midget AAA (Defence Coach, Huskies), various levels of rep and all at various ages gives Coach Ryan a next level of understanding the functional movements required to advance your skills as a player.  Ryan enjoyed a Jr career with the Brantford Golden Eagles (JrB), Caledonia Corvairs, Simcoe Storm and the Mohawk College Varsity Tournament team (A. Captain, Collegiate Defence Scoring Leader).   Coach Ryan spent his playing career as a Defensemen and continues to have a good passion for D while expanding his knowledge on the entire game. His clear and excellent communication style combined with a passion to see his athletes/students succeed makes him an asset to any player or team that learns from him.

Shiann graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2015 and played for the USA National team from 2015-2018, with a GOLD Medal at the World Championship in 2016.   Also, notching 1st place finish in 2015 at the Four Nations Cup.  Shiann has been playing 4 years of pro hockey playing for China for the past 2 seasons and last year playing for the Toronto Furies.  Shiann’s ability and passion for teaching stick handling and shooting is superb as she uses her connection to the kids to push them out of their comfort zone. Her approach to teaching is very direct, strict, informative and keeps it FUN!

Kyle’s coaching style fosters a strong sense of self-confidence that kids can transfer on and off the ice.  He has a passion for coaching hockey and emphasizes the importance of trying your hardest and giving it your best!   Kyle has an incredible ability to motivate players and achieve their best through the continued development of hockey skills and strengthening their understanding of game situations and their hockey sense.
