Matt Parker Joins BMHA 99ers as Association Goalie Coach
Submitted By Rob Symons on Thursday, October 11, 2018
Brantford Minor Hockey is pleased to announce that Matt Parker has joined our association as Association Goalie Coach for the 2018-19 season. Matt is a familiar face to many of our rep and house league goalies as he has worked in various capacities with BMHA previously, and also with many area goalies in local camps, clinics, and lessons.

Matt’s role at BMHA will be to evaluate the way in which goaltenders are being developed in team practices, identify skill levels and suggest to teams/coaches areas of improvement. Matt will also work with goaltenders personally on skill development. For Representative teams, the program includes Matt attending two practices per team, and each goalie receiving two sessions with him at Cro's Ice Nest. For House League, goalies in Tyke and Novice will attend sessions before/after practice on the goalie pad at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre. Older age group goalies will participate in a program on Sundays at Cro's Ice Nest. Dates and times will be announced shortly. NOTE: Matt’s services, as outlined above, come at no extra cost to our BMHA families. This is a BMHA Player Development initiative.

On top of the NCCP Goaltending 1 Coaches Certification that BMHA just ran recently, Matt will have 2 or 3 more classroom sessions to discuss development practices and hopefully run a Level 2 certification as well.

In addition, Matt will act as a resource to coaches, goalies, and parents regarding “anything goaltending”. He is only an email or text away for any questions, concerns, or input.

Matt can be reached by cell at 519-802-4330 or via email at [email protected]
