99ers Look to Respond at Wendy Dufton Memorial
After an encouraging start to the season as a team at the Toronto Titans Tournament Sept 7-11th, the 99ers faced a difficult weekend in St. Mary's during the Alliance Minor Midget Showcase.

Brantford opened up the Titans Tournament with a 4-1 loss to the Vaughn Kings followed up by a draw with the Hamilton Bulldogs. They then put up their first win as a club with a 3-0 shut out win over the Peterborough Petes. #31 Kyle Curin recorded the shutout in goal for the club, while #71 Bloomfield, #16 Barker and #11 Waston found the back of the net for Brantford. The club would close out the tournament with a credible performance against the Quinte Red Devils yet fell short to a score of 3-2.

After opening up the season with a 5-0 W over the Huron Perth Lakers, Brantford would travel to St. Mary's for the four game Showcase event. Chatham, London, Elgin and Sun County proved to be a big test for the team in a weekend that did not see them compete the way Head Coach Pete Crosby would have envisioned. Losses of 4-1, 7-0, 8-1 and 5-1 would only see the 99ers put up three goals over the four game set.

With the showcase behind them the 99ers will host Sarnia on October the 2nd at 2pm at he Gretzky Centre, followed by their second tournament of the season which will take place in London. The Wendy Dufton Memorial will be a three game tournament and will run October 7-9th. The 99ers will look to respond well to some early struggles during this tournament weekend.
