Game 18 Brantford 99ers at Ancaster Avalanche
This is our final game for the season but it unfortunately didn't end in our favour.

The first period of play was filled with lots of action and end to end play by these two pretty evenly matched teams.  We started out strong with a big chance for a goal only minutes into the game.  The boys did a great job moving the puck around to give us more scoring opportunities but their goalie was doing a great job keeping us scoreless.

But their goalie wasn't the only one playing well,  There were some big saves made by Cole and the defense team was doing a great job keeping up with some of Ancaster's fast skaters and took away a lot of shots.  The end of the first period left us short handed but the boys did a great job with the penalty kill.  First period ends scoreless for both teams.

Special mention goes to Ethan H for his terrific dance moves from the penalty box during the break heading into second period....lol.

Second period was more action, more great plays and more big saves by the goalies.  Ancaster did manage to sneak one in but our boys just dug harder and worked hard to move the puck around.  At the end of the second period we were only down by one goal and our boys looked determine to get it back.

Third period was more scoring opportunities and more big saves including one right out of the air by Sebastian.   Third period was played mostly in our end with lots of physical play, digging along the boards and more saves.  Unfortunately Ancaster scored two more goals,  one being a real nice shot and the second a rebound.  Final score 3 0 for Ancaster.  Good game boys, you all played hard for a late Sunday evening game and knowing most were up early Sunday morning for a house league game.

Hard hat award going to Bowen E for some great work pinching in to keep the play in the offensive zone and good positional coverage (your power nap must have helped).
